Liberty Stands Still (DVD)
Liberty Wallace (Linda Fiorentino), heiress and co-president of America's largest gun manufacturer is on the way to meet her lover at a theater. While passing through a public park, a series of events finds her chained to a hotdog car, the long-range laser sight of a gun aimed at her chest. The owner of the gun (Wesley Snipes) calls her via cell phone to explain his agenda and let her know that there is bomb in the hot dog cart that will detonate when her cell phone runs out. So begins a game of cat-and-mouse in which serious questions are raised concerning the issue of gun control. Director Kari Skogland's audacious thriller combines action scenes with tense, intelligent dialogue, providing an intriguing change-of-pace for star Snipes.

Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (DVD)
Allan Dwan re-teams with Shirley Temple in this adaptation of the children`s classic, which shares nothing with the well-known story except its title. After a nationwide search to find a Little Miss Universe, cereal mogul Cyrus Bartlett (Paul Harvey) hears the voice of an eight-year-old girl, Rebecca Winstead (Shirley Temple), and tells ad executive Tony Kent (Randolph Scott) that she`s the girl he wants. But when the announcer mistakenly tells the girl that her audition is over, Rebecca`s stepfather Henry Kipper (William Demarest), leaves the studio with her. Since they`ve just been evicted from their hotel, he leaves her with her Aunt Miranda (Helen Westley) at Sunnybrook Farm. Realizing the mistake, Tony goes into a tailspin.

Nightmare (DVD)
The Korean horror film renaissance continues with NIGHTMARE (GAWI), directed by Ahn Byung-Ki (PHONE). Hye-jin and her friends carry with them a horrible secret about their past misdeeds, terrible enough that it drove one of them, Eun-ju, to commit suicide.
